Composition and use of iron oxide red
Main components of iron oxide red
The appearance of iron oxide is orange-red or deep purple-red triangular crystalline powder, which is iron oxide red. The main component is iron oxide, and the chemical formula is Fe2O3, also known as rust red, ferrite red, iron lead, etc. It is an inorganic red pigment. There are two kinds of iron oxide red, natural and synthetic. The natural one is called Xihong, with relative density of 55.25, fineness of 0.4-20um, and melting point of 1565 (decomposition). Iron oxide red is made by dry and wet methods. The dry process products have large crystals and hard particles, and are suitable for magnetic materials and polishing abrasive materials. Wet products have fine crystals, soft particles, easy to grind, and easy to be used as pigments. Iron oxide red is insoluble in water and oil, soluble in hot concentrated acid, slightly soluble in alcohol, without oil permeability and water permeability.
Iron oxide red has strong coloring power and strong covering power, bright color, good dispersion, light resistance, heat resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance, and turbidity gas resistance, stable performance, rust prevention, UV resistance, and non-toxic and harmless, so it has a wide range of uses in modern production and life.
Use of iron oxide red
According to the properties of iron oxide red, it can be classified as follows:
1 Industrial use of iron oxide red with strong coloring power:
(1) Coloring use of iron oxide red in building materials
Iron oxide red is mainly used in the building materials industry for color cement, color cement floor tile, artific
