Polyvinyl alcohol is added with different Defoamers in different application fields. We add different defoamers according to different needs of customers to meet their needs, such as textile industry, paper industry, coating adhesive or surface sizing agent, ceramic industry and chemical industry.
Textile industry: polyvinyl alcohol as a fiber sizing agent is agitated and shaken by the machine when mixing due to the addition of textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries, which makes the dye pool and air come into contact with each other in a large amount, resulting in a large amount of foaming. Tributyl phosphate is commonly used as an antifoam mainly in aqueous systems. It is insoluble in water and has a relatively low surface tension, which is more suitable for the textile industry. It has fast defoaming ability and good foam inhibition ability. After being added to the solution, if foam appears again during stirring, it needs to be added intermittently for many times.
Papermaking industry: when polyvinyl alcohol is used in the pulping process, the added slurry contains natural substances such as fat and Resin ACID, which will generate foaming substances such as fatty acid soap during the pulping process. Silicone defoamer can be used. It has strong defoaming ability, will not affect the basic properties of the system after adding, and is stable in chemical ability.
Material adhesive or surface sizing agent: the mixture of fatty acid and polyether, stearic acid amide and the dispersion of fat in mineral oil can be used as defoamer if bubbles are generated due to technological problems during the production of glue. It has the advantages of easy availability of raw materials, low production cost and strong professionalism.
Ceramic industry: polyvinyl alcohol is used in the ceramic firing process. The high temperature in the kiln will make the crystal water or liquid water in the glaze layer turn into gas. When the glaze layer is thick, the gaseous water molecules will be wrapped by the glaze film and will form bubbles if they cannot be released. Polyethylene glycol, polysiloxane and tributyl phosphate can be added to eliminate foam to avoid the formation of fish eyes on the ceramic surface and affect the appearance of ceramics.
Chemical industry: in the production of polyvinyl alcohol and VAE lotion, different types of polyvinyl alcohol are used as suspending agent. By adding polysiloxane ether type defoamer, hydrophobic silica and non Silicone combined polyvinyl alcohol defoamer, a large amount of foaming can be reduced.
