The latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics shows that in August 2023, China's production of Caustic Soda (converted to 100%) reached 3.395 million tons, an increase of 5.6% year-on-year; From January to August, China's cumulative production of caustic soda (converted to 100%) reached 26.836 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.2%.

In terms of upstream production, China's raw salt production in August was 3.929 million tons, an increase of 2.9% year-on-year; From January to August, China's cumulative production of raw salt reached 32.918 million tons, which is basically the same as the same period last year.

In terms of downstream production, China's alumina production in August was 7.08 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.8%; From January to August, China's cumulative production of alumina reached 54.537 million tons, an increase of 0.6% year-on-year. In August, China's production of machine made paper and paperboard (excluding outsourced raw paper processing) reached 12.247 million tons, an increase of 15.1% year-on-year; From January to August, China's cumulative production of machine made paper and paperboard (excluding outsourced raw paper processing) reached 91.18 million tons, an increase of 3.2% year-on-year. In August, China's fabric production reached 2.62 billion meters, a year-on-year decrease of 2.2%; From January to August, China's cumulative production of cloth reached 20.23 billion meters, a year-on-year decrease of 4.6%. In August, China's synthetic Detergent production reached 943000 tons, an increase of 10.3% year-on-year; From January to August, China's cumulative production of synthetic detergents reached 6.982 million tons, an increase of 8.2% year-on-year.
