2、 Application of activated carbon
At present, the main activated carbon on the market is divided into gas phase adsorption activated carbon and liquid phase adsorption activated carbon. The representative of gas phase adsorption activated carbon are honeycomb activated carbon, columnar activated carbon and powdered activated carbon; The representative of liquid adsorption activated carbon: powder activated carbon, columnar activated carbon, Coconut Shell Activated Carbon, broken activated carbon and so on are widely used.
2.1 in the process of gas phase adsorption, the amount of PAC used in waste incineration is relatively large. In the process of treating other waste gas and VOCs organic waste gas, honeycomb activated carbon and columnar activated carbon are applied respectively according to different waste gas treatment equipment. For example, the existing equipment for (RCO) catalytic combustion equipment generally uses honeycomb activated carbon. At the same time, according to the different moisture content of waste gas, water-resistant honeycomb activated carbon and water-resistant honeycomb activated carbon are generally used. The existing equipment is activated carbon adsorption tank, which generally uses columnar Granular Activated Carbon. At the same time, the particle size of activated carbon can be adjusted according to the needs of exhaust gas concentration and wind speed. If the existing equipment is activated carbon adsorption box, honeycomb activated carbon or columnar activated carbon can be used according to specific factors such as air volume and concentration.
2.2 in the process of liquid phase adsorption, powdered activated carbon filter, crushed granular activated carbon filter and biological activated carbon combined with ozone activated carbon are widely used in the treatment of tap water. It can effectively remove the dissolved matter in the water, reduce the UV absorption value, and reduce the total organic carbon (TOC), chemical oxygen demand (COD) and chlorine content in the water. High quality coconut shell activated carbon is the best choice for deep purification of water. Different grades of powdered activated carbon and columnar activated carbon are used in wastewater treatment.
