Since the middle of last month, as the coal tar continues to rise, the price of carbon black has become more and more firm driven by the cost. At present, the transaction price N330 of new orders of mainstream carbon black manufacturers in Shanxi, Hebei, Jiangxi and other places has risen to 10600-10700 yuan/ton, and some high structure carbon black, such as N220, N234, is in short supply.

The recent sharp rise in carbon black prices has indeed exceeded the expectations of some businesses, but the Carbon Black Industry Network believes that the current round of carbon black price rise is not hype, but there is indeed coal tar cost support. As for the specific performance of coal tar in the near future, the previous Carbon Black Industry Network has also reported many times, so I will not repeat it.

As for the future, according to the feedback of the market, the atmosphere of coal tar preparation before the festival this week is further warming, and some carbon black manufacturers report that it is very difficult to purchase raw coal tar and anthracene oil. This week, the National Day holiday is approaching. According to the situation in previous years, the transport vehicles of dangerous chemicals will be severely limited during the holiday. Considering the situation, this week will be the most important stage for coal tar users to stock up. It is predicted that with the support of downstream deep processing and the influence of stock up factors before the holiday, the price of coal tar will remain strong this week, and some regions will not rule out the possibility of continuing to rise.

To sum up, before the festival, the carbon black price cost support was stable. Under the influence of favorable factors such as low overall starting load of carbon black enterprises, low inventory of manufacturers, tight supply of some brands, and downstream users' stock before the festival, the carbon black industry was still in a strong mood to raise prices again. If the auction of new coal tar orders continues to rise, the carbon black price may rise again this week.
