Product description:

Anhydrous Aluminum chloride is white or light yellow granule or powder, relative density 2.44(25℃), Melting Point 190℃(253KPa),incombustible, easily soluble in water, soluble in ethyl alcohol, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride. Slightly soluble in Benzene. Strong water absorbing ability. Extremely easy to deliquesce. When exposing to the air, it could easily absorb the water and is hydrolyzed to hydrogen chloride. Strong causticity. Form complex compound with many inorganic or organic compound. And the formed products are all easy to decompose.

Aluminum chloride, white particles or powder, has a strong odor of hydrochloric ACID, and industrial products are light yellow. It is easily soluble in water, alcohol, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, and slightly soluble in benzene. Molten aluminum chloride is not easy to conduct electricity, unlike most salts containing halogen ions (such as sodium chloride). The aqueous solution of aluminum chloride is completely dissociated and is a good electrical conductor.

Aluminum chloride is a colorless transparent crystal or a white, slightly yellowish crystalline powder. Easily absorb water and part of the water liberates hydrogen chloride to form acid mist. Easily soluble in water and strongly hydrolyzed, the solution is acidic. It is also soluble in ethanol and ether, and emits a lot of heat at the same time. Aluminum chloride hexahydrate is a colorless orthorhombic crystal with a density of 2.398g/cm3 and decomposes at 100°C.

Aluminum chloride has a low melting point and boiling point, and it will sublime, becoming a covalent compound.
