Azodicarbonamide (ADC) has long been used by commercial bakers to strengthen dough, but has been poorly tested. A 1999 review published by several United Nations agencies concluded that "There are no adequate data relating to carcinogenic, reproductive, or developmental effects, hence it is not possible to evaluate the risk to human health for these endpoints."

Azodicarbonamide (AC or ADCA) is the most popular chemical blowing agent. Generally, AC is orange to pale yellow, crystalline

solid with a decomposition temperature of 201~205℃(in air). Unlike a number of other chemical blowing agents, AC is self

extinguishing when flame is removed. The decomposition residues are odorless, non-toxic, non-coloring and non-straining.

The particle size and distribution can be controlled with widely different ranges. The particle size and distribution is one of the most

significant factors.

Application:

The Adc Blowing Agent (also known as Azodicarbonamide, also called foaming agent) has high gas generation and excellent dispersion characteristics in rubber and plastics, and both atmospheric pressure foaming and pressure foaming are applicable. It is widely used in the foaming of plastic rubber, such as PE, PS, EVA, PVC, TPR, natural rubber and other materials. It can also be used to make foaming materials such as sports equipment, leather, wallpaper, wall/floor, yoga mat, and sole. It is especially beneficial to increase the elongation of the product and to obtain a better cell structure result.
